Archive/The Keepers of the Record

The man who spent
40 years remembering.

نذیر الدین احمد

Every archive has a keeper. This one has two: the biographer who spent four decades collecting one life, and the doctor across the world who put it online for the next generation.

The keepers

Two custodians,
one legacy.

Nazeer Uddin Ahmed · Hyderabad Deccan

A renowned historian of Bahadur Yar Jung's life, Nazeer Uddin Ahmed devoted some forty years to collecting and preserving everything connected to Quaid-e-Millat — producing around twenty books on his life. Without this labour of decades, most of what this archive holds would have been lost to time.

Dr. Hyder Khan · Minneapolis, USA

A pediatrician settled in Minnesota, Dr. Hyder Khan first heard of Bahadur Yar Jung as a schoolboy in Hyderabad and carried that inspiration across the world. Finding the literature scattered and hard to reach, he founded this website with the biographer's help — so the present generation could meet the legend for themselves.

Why they did it

In the biographer's words: living nations do not wrap the deeds of their elders in the shroud of the past — they strive to introduce them to the generations to come. The archive also invites contributions: anyone holding material from his life or era may submit it, to be published after verification of its authenticity.
